Mark Williams is a well known area drummer and percussionist, with over 30 years experience playing & performing. Among the hundreds of shows he's played over the years have included numerous local bands and events like the Air Force Talent Show, the Mercer University Beauty Pageant, and numerous performances with the Joey Stuckey Band.

He is currently playing with the Joey Stuckey Band and Reflections with Bob Cummings, and is a founding member of the Mosely Dixon Project (along with YAMS teachers Bobby Hall and Tom Rule). Mark is also the drum tech for ShadowSound Studios in Macon, and has been the "official drummer" for his church for just about 2 decades - but he isn't as old as that makes him sound!

Mark is comfortable with all styles, and can teach Snare Drum, Drum Set, as well as Hand Drums and electronic drums (both playing and operating them. (He makes a LOT more sense than the owner's manuals!).

He has 10 years experience teaching. Mark began teaching at YAMS in October 2007. Marks' students focus on rudiments & reading music as well as playing by ear.

Mark likes to stay current via a continuing process of education through a lot of reading (drum magazines, for example) & visiting trade shows. His latest exploration in the latest styles is musical double bass drumming - but given his endless curiosity and drive for improvement, the webmaster doubts this page will ever be kept up-to-date with what Mark is exploring!
