Lessons @ YAMS: Clarissa Jones

 

Clarissa Jones began teaching Flute and Clarinet at YAMS in 2006.

 

Clarissa holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. She has 7 years experience teaching classical clarinet to all ages from beginner levels to advanced. She is dedicated to music education - as a music educator she loves passing on her musical knowledge and experience to her students.

 

As a performer Clarissa has performed in the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra (Johnson City, Tennessee), the Kingsport Symphony Orchestra (Kinsgport, Tennessee), and several local impromptu chamber ensembles in middle Georgia. She also has significant experience working with elementary and High School bands and music organizations.

 

She was honored with the Semper Fidelis Award for Outstanding Musicianship and was honored with the John Philip Sousa Award. Clarissa is currently applying for graduate school and hopes to one day earn a Doctorate of Musical Arts.
